New Minister of Higher Education Motaz Khorshid, in a meeting with various university faculty members on Wednesday, said certain university presidents are refusing to leave office, despite the cabinet ordering them to step down.
Khorshid also said that he is studying two possible solutions to the future appointments of university presidents. The first would be to elect a committee that would in turn choose suitable candidates, and the second would be to select them by direct election.
During the meeting, Khorshid also discussed the possible formation of a syndicate for faculty members.
