Turbulent weather across Egypt in the next 72 hours: Egyptian Meteorological Authority

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority anticipates weather turbulence in the next 72 hours across Egypt, with intermittent thunderstorms to fall on the Red Sea mountain ranges.

Hot and humid weather during the day is expected in Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt and the northern coasts.

Very hot weather is expected in South Sinai and southern Upper Egypt, with moderately hot and humid weather at night in the north of the country.

Active winds are expected in Greater Cairo, the northwestern coasts, and South Sinai at intermittent intervals, whipping up sand and dust in areas in the far south of the country.

Meteorologists issued an urgent maritime warning due to the threat of disturbances at the Gulf of Suez on Thursday, with wind speeds reaching 60 km per hour, and waves reaching 3.5 meters high.

Light rains with occasional thunder are expected intermittently in South Sinai, Halayeb and Shalateen.

Mist will impact visibility in the early morning on some roads leading to and from Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, the northern coasts, the Suez Canal cities, North Sinai and Central Sinai, and northern Upper Egypt.

Temperatures are expected to drop in Cairo, recording 33C during daytime hours, while coastal governorates will record 31C, and southern Upper Egypt will see temperatures reach 43C during the day.

Northern coasts: 31C

Cairo and Lower Egypt: 33C

Northern Upper Egypt: 35C

South Sinai: 39C

Southern Upper Egypt: 43C
