A preliminary investigation has revealed that the explosion outside the Mansoura Security Directorate on Tuesday was from a TNT time bomb that was placed in a bag under a sewage lid in front of the building.
Ahmed al-Rakkib, media coordinator of the prosecutor general’s office, said a conscript of the Central Security Forces named Ibrahim Suleiman was killed in the explosion and 28 others were injured. The explosion also cracked the walls of the building, shattered the windows of the nearby police station and mosque, and damaged several police armored vehicles.
He added that prosecutors are still collecting eyewitness testimony.
