Tarek al-Zomor: Islamist non-compete agreement for government majority over next 10 years possible

Tarek al-Zomor, the fugitive president of the Construction and Development Party, which is the political arm of the Gamaa Islamiya group, said that in addition to the party, other Islamists are also considering the possibility of refraining from occupying more than 40 percent of the seats in government over the next 10 years.
“We want to reassure the civil forces that fear an Islamist majority rule,” Zomor told the Qatari Al-Arab newspaper on Sunday. “I think this would help the movements that support the January 25 revolution.”
He advised the Muslim Brotherhood to cooperate with all political currents and delegate more to the younger generation.
Zomor also called on Mohamed ElBaradei to stop tweeting and start supporting the January 25 revolution. “We accept anybody, even those who went down on June 30,” he said.
