Shafiq campaign accuses April 6 of damaging headquarters

Members of Shafiq's presidential campaign accused members of April 6 Youth Movement and the Muslim Brotherhood of "storming the headquarters of the campaign in Kafr el-Zayat in Gharbia Friday and damaging its contents."

A coordinator of  the Shafiq campaign, Amin Radi, said that other campaign workers told him of the incident and he requested that they file a report to the police.

Radi told al-Masry al-Youm that Shafiq's campaign is witnessing a fierce attack without any justification, employing twisted methods.

One Shafiq campaign worker, Ibrahim al-Asheer said that more than eighty members of April 6 Youth Movement and the Muslim Brotherhood stormed the headquarters, breaking the door, destroying a computer, seizing a laptop and tearing banners and posters inside.

In a police report,  Asheer accused a Muslim Brotherhood MP in Kafr el-Zayat of setting up the incident.

Members of the Muslim Brotherhood denied any link to the incident and accused members of Shafiq's campaign of beating a number of citizens in the city while participating in protest by the group demanding that Shafiq be politically isolated under law.
