About 150 kilograms of marijuana were found inside a truck on Haganiya Road in Damanhour, Beheira Governorate.
Security services said the driver, who lives in the city of Fayed in Ismailia and is referred to as “Salman,” is a known narcotics trafficker who has flooded the governorate with marijuana.
The defendant was allegedly caught in possession of four large plastic bags filled with 75 large rolls of marijuana weighing about 150 kilograms, in addition to LE200, bank notes worth LE760 and a mobile phone.
Security services said that when the defendant was confronted, he admitted to possession of the drug for the purpose of trafficking.
He said the money he had came from drug sales and that the vehicle was used for trafficking, according to security services.
The case is still under investigation by the prosecution.
