Nursing Syndicate head demands better bonuses

Head of the Egyptian Nursing Syndicate Kawthar Mahmoud criticized the Finance Ministry for its failure to provide bonuses for doctors and nurses in remote areas, stressing that some medical teams have started strikes as a result.
Mahmoud added in a statement Thursday that Prime Minister Ibrahim Mehleb has repeatedly instructed the ministry to provide bonuses to medical teams in remote areas like North Sinai.
The regulations related to bonuses of the medical staff need to be changed to avoid the crises between the medical staff and the government, she added in a statement.
Mahmoud called for applying on the nursing staff of university hospitals and health insurance hospitals the medical professions law on bonuses, pointing out to the need to raise the bonuses of emergency and critical cases.
Mahmoud called on President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Mehleb to intervene and solve the crisis.
