Cabinet suspends all luxurious cars imports for ministries, officials

The Egyptian Cabinet has decided to suspend all imports of luxurious cars used by ministers and officials working at governmental authorities, part of the austerity measures recently adopted, Al-Masry Al-Youm reported.
Informed sources said the decision was taken by the cabinet on Wednesday and will be announced through a statement to be distributed among governmental authorities and ministries. Customs Authority will be notified about it.
Other measures will be taken soon within the austerity plan adopted by the goveernment to face the aggravating budget deficit, which has exceeded the LE320 million mark, the sources added.
In other news, Prime Minister Sherif Ismail indicated a potential cabinet reshuffle, in accordance with evaluations conducted by the cabinet to assess the ministers' performances.
In remarks on Wednesday, Ismail added that the upcoming period will be critical for Egypt and that it needs all authorities to unify efforts, including the government, parliament and ministers. 
He denied that the government’s debts have reached LE four trillion as recently rumored.
