357 acres irrigated by sewage destroyed in Helwan

Security services continued their campaign in Helwan to destroy crops on over 2649 acres of arable land irrigated with sewage from the Arab Abu Saed sanitary drainage station south of Helwan.

Agricultural Research Center analyses proved that the crops planted on the land are detrimental to public health, unfit for human consumption and could cause serious illnesses.

The fourth phase of the campaign destroyed some 357 acres without any protest from the landowners or disruption to public order.

A security source said that before issuing destruction orders, the Interior Ministry educates landowners on the serious problems their crops can cause.
