3 Egyptian airports join IATA system

Sharm el-Sheikh, Hurghada and Burg al-Arab airports have joined the Slot Management system of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), said head of the Egyptian Airports Company Adel Mahgoub Tuesday.
Joining that system allows the organization of air navigation at busy Egyptian airports so as to be commensurate with the absorptive capacity of each airport and to help develop and improve the services provided to passengers and airlines while maintaining the highest rates of safety, said Mahgoub in a press statement.
A team from the Egyptian Airports Company prepared a report about the timing of flights in each airport and the capacity of each airport and will submit it to the IATA organization upon its request, he added.
Two conferences to regulate the timing of flights are held annually since 68 years at the headquarters of the IATA in Canada. Egypt occupied a seat in the organization this year after three Egyptian airports joined the organization's system.
